$10 Malört to Celebrate 10K Run
It took two years to finally get down to the running business, but the 10K went down via a quarter marathon because I didn’t realize the two were different. Oh well, bonus three-tenths of a mile or so.
To “celebrate” this milestone, and for this week only, I’m discounting the Malört shot incentive to $10 and removing the restriction on the number of shots. If you want to buy multiple shots, just make sure you put in the donation comment that it’s for the horrid, bitter booze.
It’s crazy to think that I went from the gaming chair to this in just 12 weeks. The run was far from a blistering pace, but I came in second in my age group…just don’t pay attention to how many people were in my age group…

My goal was to finish in under 90 minutes and have a pace around 13 minutes for each mile. Mission accomplished there, even tough a downpour greeted me during miles two and three.
As a reminder, I’m running my postponed 5K this Sunday. Yes, if you’re keeping score, both of my scheduled races had rain. My last minute decision to run in Vegas didn’t, so I guess I have to run in the desert to avoid it.
By the way, the forecast for this weekend has a 40% chance of rain on Saturday. With North Texas being North Texas, this could absolutely shift to Sunday. Call me the rainmaker.
Anyways, I want to thank everyone for the incredibly kind words throughout this massive undertaking. The support meant a lot and I hope you keep supporting me throughout the year with your donations to help me honor Aven by making a big change for all kids today!
