It's That Time of Year Again

From Saturday, April 26 to Monday, April 28th, Mrs. Tex will head out on a road trip to celebrate her life-long friend's 40th birthday.
Long-time followers of my Extra Life efforts know what that means: I'm streaming every night she's gone.
This time around, I will be streaming Valheim with Crowd Control. Considering all the Minecraft streaming that I've been doing on Sundays, Valheim follows a similar theme: survival, resource gathering, and building.
The difference: in Valheim you're a viking and death isn't just expected, it's a mechanic, and a punishing one at that. I've spent hours in this game just trying to recover my gear from death so I don't end up losing even more hours of progress.
What I'm saying is this game is begging for Crowd Control tomfoolery.
Consider this weekend a testing ground. I have some other ideas that I'd love to try in this game, but there's no better way to plan for bigger and better things than to dive in and test out just how crazy y'all might get (and how much of a pain in the ass it is becomes for me to survive).
Saturday through Monday night around 9 PM CDT, I'll go live. Bring the chaos.
Minecraft Incentives Update
After an Easter break, we got together to talk about some changes to our incentives to make things flow better.
Starting Sunday, April 27 incentives will look like this:
- $5 - individual trashes inventory*
- $5 - revive a player
- $5 - sleep for everyone! (beds for all)
- $5 - individual boost (free low tier armor, food, or tool/weapon set)
- $15 - group trashes inventory*
- $20 per person - Group Event (rolls over weekly)
- $30 - group moves 1k blocks away with nothing, anyone dead gets revived
- $50 - group moves 3k blocks away with nothing, anyone dead gets revived
Notice those inventory incentives have asterisks? That's because my inventory trashing incentive will be this:
- $10 - Inventory D20 Check: Must roll above a 10 to keep gear, rolls of 1 - 5 results in group trashing inventory
Want to get around the roll? Donate to the other campaigns!
The group event rules have also changed. Each person streaming needs to have $20 donated to their campaign to trigger the event. When that happens, we will give ourselves event appropriate gear to prevent taking forever to prep (we do not get to keep this gear); further, inventory trashes and group moves are banned until the event concludes.
Look, we get y'all are chaos gremlins, but the inventory tosses before and during events grind the stream to a halt. We want to keep things moving so feel free to save that inventory toss for when we finish and have all the cool loot.
See y'all this weekend!
