Farewell Fiesta, Hello Tears of the Kingdom
Also, a farewell to Twitter

It took almost a full month longer than I planned, but my Four Job Fiesta run of Final Fantasy V finally came to an end last week. You can check out the full run on YouTube and I’m sure I’ll have some shorter highlights and clips, especially of the terrible drinks, later on.
Most importantly, y’all helped me raise over $2,000 for the Children’s Health Foundation of Oklahoma City during the Fiesta. I couldn’t be more happy with those results.
That means it’s on to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, starting tonight at 9 PM CDT on Twitch!
I have yet to play a single second, so what you’ll see on stream will be my very first experience with the game. However, that also means that I have no clue what I’ll do as far as donation incentives. The first stream or two will be rather chill and less chaotic as I learn the basic mechanics of the game.
Have no fear—once I unlock the basics and figure things out, chaos will return!
Also, future scheduling note: I’m heading out of town for a well deserved vacation at the end of the month and will not stream on July 27th. I’m hoping with about 12-15 hours in before then will give me some time to brainstorm during some very long flights for said chaotic incentives.
I can’t wait to get this playthrough under way and am extremely excited for it to hit crazy heights in August.
The best way to keep up with my Extra Life campaign is this newsletter. It will always remain free so sign up below!
Farewell, Twitter
Well, I’m not completely gone. I’ll still post promotional Extra Life stuff on the platform. However, my days of hanging around there and growing my Extra Life network are pretty much through thanks to Elon both rate limiting the platform and moving Tweetdeck behind the paywall.
While I’ve definitely brought in more donations and viewers to streams through Twitter, I do believe the growth has plateaued.
Perhaps this is the perfect time to move elsewhere as far as social media goes. I’ve snagged a Bluesky invite (find me @ndtex.gamin4aven.org), but with it being invite only at the moment, I’m not expecting further growth there any time soon.
Threads, Meta’s supposed Twitter replacement, launched yesterday (I’m there @ndtex). At first, I wasn’t going to bother, but then I thought, “hey, my friends that never went to Twitter might be there, so this sounds like a good place to try!”
Thus far, huge mistake.
I’ll attempt promotional stuff there too, but, as long as the main feed continues to be an unfiltered mess of Zuckerberg’s algorithm vomiting all kinds of garbage at everyone, I’m not how well that will work out either.
All of that is to say, if you’ve made it this far down the page, is that I am absolutely going to need your help to continue growing this thing. Spread the word, let people know about my Extra Life campaign, this newsletter, the silly stuff I do on the streams, and the fun that can be head in the name of Changing Kids’ Health.
It’s going to be quite a transition, but one I’m very excited about.
