Cancer Still Sucks, Crowd Control Doesn't
Cancer decided to rear its ugly head this past weekend, in a way I didn't expect and certainly not at the speed it did.
My youngest's teacher, Mrs. Collinsworth, ended up at the hospital last week due to persistent headaches. After multiple tests, doctors found a cancerous tumor in her brain and got her into emergency surgery on Friday.
We remained hopeful as we received news that the surgery removed around 70% of the tumor. What we didn't know is that she didn't wake up after it.
She never did. The fight ended before it really started as she passed the next morning.
On Sunday, we relayed the news to our kids. That completely took everything out of me, unplugging for the day and forgoing the final Minecraft finale prep stream with my SMP group.
Of course, doing what I do with Extra Life, my mind went back to Aven. Everything looked positive. He was in remission and the worst appeared to be behind him until it wasn't.
Cancer is cruel, unfair, and doesn't discriminate. Fortunately, neither does the battle for a cure. While I focus on the work the Children's Health Foundation does in fighting pediatric cancer, a cure for one means a cure for all.
RIP, Mrs. Collinsworth. We will keep fighting.
Crowd Control, Now Permanently Enabled
There's no smooth transition here, so let's just take the turn into some happier news as one of my favorite fundraising tools, Crowd Control, had a major update.
Introducing, Disrupts which will work with anything I stream:
POV: You turned on Crowd Control Disrupts to work with ANY game. 💥 crowdcontrol.live/guides/disrupts

It'll work similar to Dixper effects except you can use with Crowd Control coins (including free ones from watching, Twitch subs, and soon, Channel Rewards), which will trigger much quicker for easier timing for viewers, and lots more options to mess with me.
Additionally, I'll have the option to build custom packs. So if you have ideas for images and sounds, let me know!
Along with this update comes vanity URLs, aka ones easier to remember. Here's mine: https://crowdcontrol.live/@ndtex
Finally, this update brings Chaos Mode. What this will do is automatically fire effects off at random periods of time even if they weren't purchased. There are also multiple levels of chaos available, which will unlock based on donations to my Extra Life page every stream:
- $1 - Lurker Mode (50% chance of effects every 1-3 minutes)
- $5 - Chill Mode (75% chance every 1-2.5 minutes)
- $10 - Average Mode (80% chance every 1-2 minutes)
- $50 - Hyperactive Mode (85% chance every 1-1.5 minutes)
- $100 - Aggressive Mode (100% chance every minute)
Spend money on coins. Spend money on donations. Either way, you help me Change Kids' Health.
The chaos begins on Thursday!
