A Rough Game Day Marathon Schedule

Because everything in my life still centers around Notre Dame Football

A Rough Game Day Marathon Schedule

I probably should’ve scheduled my Game Day marathon for the weekend of November 10, the weekend after the official Extra Life Game Day marathon date. But I really wanted to do it on the official date this year and committed myself (and my PTO) to it.

Notre Dame has a bye that weekend. On November 4, they play Clemson. Since it’s a road game, the kickoff time isn’t set yet. I always assumed it would be a night game, but with Clemson and ND suffering a couple losses each, that’s no longer a guarantee.

So why do this to myself? Well, I figured kicking off this year’s marathon with a Notre Dame Sim would be an awesome start on Friday night. That’s still the plan to start, but everything else gets reeeeeeeeeeal screwy if the game kicks in the afternoon.

Anyways, here’s the very, very rough plan as I’m assuming this won’t be a noon kick (if it is…I’ll have to change damn near everything):

Friday, November 3

6 PM CDT - Notre Dame at Clemson NCAA ‘14 Sim

~7 PM CDT - Start of Getting Over It with Crowd Control

~8 PM CDT - Break to say good night to the kiddos

~8:45 PM CDT - Getting Over It Resumes

Saturday, November 4

12 PM CDT - Minecraft Bingo with my Kids

3 or 4 PM CDT - Final Fantasy XIV Extra Life Co-Stream

Getting Over It is a special hell when it comes to gaming. Here’s a great example. If you like torturing me with Crowd Control, you will love this. I don’t plan on playing it the whole marathon HOWEVER, the more you donate/use Crowd Control, the longer you will force me to play it.

Details on how this timer will work to come. There will also be a penalty on my part if I fail to beat the game at least once: chest waxing.

I have some backup games to play as well should the Getting Over It pain actually stop. However, I know my donors too well. I’m not planning on it.

Fundraising Update

$10,893.05 raised so far this year!!! The Crowd Control stream this past Friday was an ABSURD success, taking in $668.05, which will be doubled by my company. In fact, there are a whole bunch of matching donations queued up over these past few months. I can’t wait for them to hit!

The next incentive shot, all three Triforce Shots mixed together is just $178.88 away!
