$1,341.31 Until the Next Food Stunt
Plus, Notre Dame vs Clemson NCAA '14 Sim Tonight!
It’s crazy to think Gamin’ 4 Aven has nearly eclipsed the $10,000 mark before my 24-hour streaming marathon starting Friday, December 2. I certainly hope that we do because, if it happens, you will force my entire Game Day marathon substance to come from this piece of 1970s Notre Dame magic:

Most of the book is full of things that you’d expect from a cookbook of that era: some classics that sound pretty good and some things like Champagne Chicken that might just be crazy enough to work. However, if you’ve been following my charity endeavors for any length of time, you know that I wouldn’t scour eBay for this if there weren’t some truly incredible treasures that will put me through pain and delight the viewing audience.
There are some true crimes in this book like the Miami Avocado Spread. No, it’s a not a precursor to Avocado Toast, but a horror that decides to mix avocado with canned tunafish and mayo for what I can only assume is some form of penance given to that pour soul.
I have also uncovered a true joy of the pre-internet era within this book: attempts at Mexican and Chinese cuisine by well-intentioned Midwesterners that didn’t know any better. Recipes like the Mexican Chicken, Mexican Turkey, Tiajuana (sic) Enchiladas throw in some chili powder as the only real touch of Latin cuisine in the recipe and call it a day. The Hong Kong Chow Mein and Egg Foo Yung (Chinese Omelet) feature things seen in Chinese takeout and thrown in a dish.
Oh, and don’t worry, there is booze. Specifically punches that I can only assume snuck through Notre Dame with a borderline GPA, but a BAC with honors. Feast your eyes on a couple word-for-word recipes:
Indiana Cocktail
- 3 bottles port wine
- 8 oz light rum
- Juice of 4 lemons
Fifth Marine Punch
- 1 quart carefully brewed, strong tea
- 1 bottle good cognac
- 1 bottle champagne
You get the idea. Suggested serving size is a tailgate, but, with enough donations, served only to a silly streamer and, potentially, his curious wife.
Stream Schedule & Highlights
- Tonight, ~9 PM CDT: $100 Donation Stream - Notre Dame vs. Clemson NCAA ‘14 Sim, attempting to finish Final Fantasy II after
- Saturday, ~3 PM CDT: Assisting a friend with his Game Day marathon with some Final Fantasy XIV…complete with donation incentives that can make either his, or my, gameplay a chore
Despite the constant weapon swaps and magic discards, I’ve actually got a fairly solid party going into the end of Final Fantasy II. I’m thrilled that Ultima actually works in this version, doing well over 1,000 damage even at it’s early levels—however, you can stop that from being an option at all with $173.79 and undo the work I’ve put in to the spell.
I was bad cutting up highlights last week, but I was informed by the artist I commissioned for emotes that the rest would be done, so I decided this space would be better used for that. Here is a preview of some of the new ones, including one of Aven that makes my heart melt.
